1. Introduction

Welcome to TravelFar. TravelFar is a traveler-built platform that helps people find compatible travel buddies, planned trips, and safer travel conversations. TravelFar is not a booking agency, travel agency, tour operator, dating service, transport provider, insurer, emergency service, or identity-verification provider.

2. Eligibility and Account Rules

You may use TravelFar only if you meet the account requirements below. If you stop meeting them, your permission to use TravelFar ends automatically.

• You are at least 18 years old.
• You are legally able to enter into these Terms.
• You are using TravelFar as an individual, not as a company, agency, bot, or scraper.
• You are not prohibited by applicable law from using the Service.
• You have not previously been banned or suspended unless we have given written permission to return.
• You will create and use only one account.

3. Your Responsibilities

TravelFar works only if people use it honestly. You are responsible for what you decide to do outside the app, including meeting, booking, sharing expenses, sharing contact details, and deciding whether a trip is safe or suitable for you.

• Use accurate account information and keep your login details secure.
• Respect other users boundaries, trip visibility settings, blocks, and safe-space preferences.
• Make your own safety checks before meeting, traveling, booking, paying, or sharing personal information.
• Comply with local laws, travel rules, visa requirements, insurance obligations, and health or safety requirements.
• Report suspicious, unsafe, abusive, or illegal behavior through the app or by contacting support.

4. Things You Must Not Do

You must not use TravelFar for abuse, fraud, scraping, harassment, unsafe behavior, commercial spam, or any activity that harms users or the service.

• Misrepresent your identity, age, homebase, intentions, or relationship to another person or organization.
• Create more than one account, create an account after being banned, or let another person use your account.
• Harass, threaten, stalk, pressure, shame, discriminate against, exploit, or abuse another user.
• Use TravelFar for scams, spam, phishing, commercial solicitation, escorting, dating-only behavior, fraud, or requests for money.
• Scrape, crawl, data-mine, automate, reverse engineer, bypass rate limits, or collect user data outside the normal app experience.
• Upload malware, attempt to access systems without permission, test vulnerabilities without written permission, or interfere with the service.
• Share another persons private information, images, conversations, or profile content without permission.
• Submit false reports, abuse support channels, or try to manipulate moderation decisions.

5. Prohibited Content

You must not upload, send, post, or display illegal, sexual, hateful, violent, fraudulent, impersonating, spammy, exploitative, or rights-infringing content.

• Illegal content, instructions for illegal activity, or content that encourages harm.
• Nudity, sexual content, sexual solicitation, or any content involving minors in a sexual or exploitative way.
• Hateful, discriminatory, extremist, violent, threatening, or dehumanizing content.
• Content that promotes self-harm, dangerous challenges, eating disorders, or violence.
• Fraudulent, misleading, impersonating, spammy, or commercial content that does not fit the purpose of TravelFar.
• Images or text that infringe someone elses rights, including privacy, copyright, trademark, or personality rights.
• Content that shows another person without consent or that was not created by you unless you have the right to share it.

6. Profiles, Trips, Messages, and Matching

TravelFar lets users create profiles, upload photos, choose travel preferences, discover compatible travelers, create or join trips, and exchange messages. Profiles, trip posts, scores, tags, and recommendations are informational only.

7. Safety and Moderation

Safety is core to TravelFar, but no online platform can remove all risk. We may use automated tools, rate limits, spam checks, abuse signals, user reports, and human review to detect or respond to unsafe behavior.

8. Your Content

Your Content means information, photos, profile text, trip posts, applications, messages, support messages, reports, and other material you submit. You keep ownership and grant TravelFar a limited license needed to operate, secure, improve, moderate, and enforce the Service.

9. Other Users' Content

Other users own or control the content they provide. You may view and use it only for normal TravelFar purposes such as discovering travel buddies, evaluating trips, communicating, and planning safely.

10. TravelFar Content and License

TravelFar owns or licenses the software, design, logo, interface, text, graphics, icons, and other materials provided by TravelFar. You receive a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service as intended.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process, why we process it, how long we keep it, and what rights you may have. It is part of these Terms.

12. Notifications and Emails

We may send account, security, verification, password reset, message, trip, moderation, and support emails where needed to provide the Service. Optional message and project update emails can be controlled in settings where available.

13. Free Service and Future Changes

TravelFar is currently free to use. We may add, remove, test, limit, rename, or change features over time. If paid features are introduced later, additional terms will be shown before purchase.

14. Account Suspension and Termination

You may delete your account from settings where available. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk, abuse the Service, break the law, or cause technical, security, or legal problems.

15. No Travel, Safety, or Identity Guarantee

TravelFar does not conduct criminal background checks, formal identity verification, health checks, travel eligibility checks, or travel-provider checks unless a future feature explicitly says otherwise.

16. Disclaimers

TravelFar is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, available everywhere, or suitable for every travel plan.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TravelFar is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or loss-of-profit damages, or for harm resulting from user conduct, offline meetings, outside bookings, or service interruptions.

18. Indemnity

Where allowed by law, you agree to compensate TravelFar for reasonable losses, costs, claims, and expenses caused by your unlawful use of the Service, Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are intended for a Europe-based service. Where permitted, the laws of Germany apply without excluding mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your country of residence.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when TravelFar changes or when legal, safety, technical, or operational needs change. For material changes, we may notify you by email, in-app notice, or website notice where reasonable.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any feature-specific terms shown in the product, form the agreement between you and TravelFar.
